Friday Reconnect - Finishing Nim

As we reach the end of our adventures with Nim’s Island by Wendy Orr, we have a lot to look back on. We got to learn about Wendy Orr in our blog interview and live Q & A with her, we evaluated our expectations versus our realities with Kayla in our blog from Wednesday, and we discovered the power of pen pals! We hope that you’ve enjoyed getting to know Nim as much as we have.

While we leave Nim, Selkie, Alex, and Jack on the island, we can’t help but long for a bit more time with them. If you feel like we do, you’re in luck because our activity for today allows us to do just that! However, we won’t be seeing our characters in the way we’re used to. This time our characters will be on screen.

In 2008 Nim’s Island was turned into a movie! One of our favorite things to do on the Read to Them team is watch movies that are based on books, and compare/contrast the book and the film. So, that’s exactly what we’re inviting you to do! You’ve done step one already, so pop some popcorn, grab a blanket, and check out the movie!
