Character Spotlight: Josh Blot
by Kayla Aldrich, Read to Them staff
Hello, all! We're glad to have you join us on this fine Monday morning to head straight into your second week with Lola Levine is NOT Mean! by Monica Brown. Let's waste no time in giving you a proper introduction to...
Josh Blott

Name: Josh Blot
Grade: 2nd
School: Northland Elementary
Friends: It's no surprise that Josh sees Lola as his best friend. He's also well-liked among his and Lola's classmates, but he's always going to pick Lola for his team in soccer.
Family: Josh's mother is the school principal, Principal Blot.
Personality: Like Lola, Josh can be a little competitive - be it who can make it to a fence first or winning a game of soccer. He is kind, though. When Lola isn't allowed to play at recess, he's the only student who comes over to talk to her. When the disaster on the soccer field lands Lola with a mean nickname, Josh is the only student who refuses to call her "Mean Lola Levine." He takes up for Lola when he overhears Alyssa and Makayla calling things out like "Don't foul me, Dolores!" by giving her a new, more accurate nickname, instead.
Likes: Josh has a cat named Milo that he loves dearly. He also likes to spend time with Lola and play soccer.
Notable Quote: "Lola Levine is a... soccer queen!
